asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Shipping whether he is prepared to accept the offer made on behalf of the West of England Joint Electricity Authority (Group E, 8), which is being constituted, the sum of£163,200, the agreed price in February last, for the purchase of the electricity generating station at Beachley, Gloucestershire, or what other course he proposes as to the disposal of the station; whether any higher offer than£100,000 has been or can be obtained; and is he aware that if the definite offer is not accepted on or before the 28th November it will be rescinded?

It has now been agreed to accept the sum of£163,200 for the purchase of the generating station at Beachley, and the authorities concerned are being informed accordingly.
