§ Mr. KELLAWAYI have been asked to reply. The advances sanctioned up to date amount to £473,049; the advances actually made amount to £98,186. As regards the last part of the question, I may refer my hon. Friend to the answer given on the 25th October to the hon. Member for Buckingham Division (Captain Bowyer), in which the Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Trade explained the measures recently adopted to facilitate the utilisation of the scheme. I may add that since that date there has been a very marked increase in the number of applications received by the Export Credits Department.
