Mr. T. THOMSONasked the Prime Minister to what extent the Government propose further retarding the applica- 1195W tion of the Education Act, 1918; and whether he is aware that any financial saving thus secured will be obtained at the sacrifice of the educational efficiency of the child on leaving school?
§ Mr. BONAR LAWThe Government are not retarding the operation of the Act, but, as I have already intimated, present economic conditions must inevitably make the process of giving full effect to it more gradual.
