GREENWOODAs I stated on the 25th October in answer to the hon. and gallant Member for Newcastle East (Major Barnes), the so-called "Black-and-Tans" are not a separate force, but are recruits to the permanent establishment of the Royal Irish Constabulary. It is impossible to apportion the expenditure from the Royal Irish Constabulary Vote between these recruits and the rest of the force.
