§ Mr. PERRINGasked the Minister of Pensions whether his attention has been called to the hardship suffered by War pensioners, especially those certified totally disabled, by reason of the rise in the cost of living since the date when the present pensions were fixed; and if he will consider the desirability of recommending to the House to remove this hardship by an increase of pension to cover the increased cost of living?
§ Major TRYONThe Government have recently considered this question, and have decided that no increase of war pensions can be sanctioned at present. My right hon. Friend is, therefore, unable to adopt the suggestion in the latter part of the question.
