Mr. ALFRED DAVIES (Clitheroe)asked the Chief Secretary for Ireland whether the wives and families of head constables and sergeants of the Royal Irish Constabulary have been removed from their quarters in barracks as a precautionary measure to protect them in case of attacks on the barracks; and, if so, will he take the same precautionary 2394W measures in respect of the wives and families of Irish prison officials who are compelled to reside inside the prison walls?
§ Mr. DENIS HENRYThe circumstances of the two services are not parallel. It is not thought necessary at present to take any special precautionary measures in respect of the wives and families of married officials residing inside prison walls.
