§ Mr. J. DAVISONasked the Parliamentary Secretary to the War Office whether he is now in a position to state the result of his inquiries into the case of A. E. Piper, late No. 35,291, battery sergeant-major, Royal Garrison Artillery (Hants), who made application for one year's bounty, ration allowance, and pay 2250W under Army Council Instruction No. 633, of 1919; whether he is aware that this claim has been refused as this warrant officer did not come within the scope of the Military Service Act of 1916 owing to his age; and that this warrant officer was sent home from France with valvular disease of the heart and was transferred to Class W Reserve through this disability in August, 1917; and whether, in view of this fact, he can now see his way to grant the man's request?
