HC Deb 06 May 1920 vol 128 cc2279-80W
Mr. LUNN

asked the Minister of Labour whether his attention has been drawn to the trade dispute at Messrs. John Lewis and Co., Oxford Street; and whether any action is being taken by his Department to endeavour to reach a settlement?

Dr. MACNAMARA

The dispute to which my hon. Friend refers has been receiving the attention of my Department, and continuous efforts have been made to bring the parties together; but so far the firm have declined to meet the trade union officials, and it has not been practicable ting about a settlement.
