HC Deb 06 May 1920 vol 128 c2273W
Mr. ALFRED T. DAVIES

asked the Secretary of State for War and Air whether, in view of hardship involved in many cases, he will reconsider the decision that soldiers serving in various centres in future pay the full fares when going on leave?

Mr. CHURCHILL

The hon. Member is under a misapprehension. Soldiers stationed at home are allowed a concession voucher when proceeding on leave for seven days or over, which entitles them to a return ticket at half the current fares. Similar vouchers from the port of disembarkation to their homes and return are given to soldiers on leave from abroad.
