Mr. REMER

asked the President of the Board of Trade how many buildings are occupied by his Department; where they are situated in each case; and when he anticipates that these buildings will be evacuated?

The following buildings in London are occupied by the Board of Trade:—

(a) Buildings occupied by Permanent Departments of the Board.

1. New Public Offices, Great George Street, S.W.1. (Headquarters part of building).

2. 55, Whitehall, S.W.1.

3. 6–7, Old Palace Yard, S.W.1.

4. Hotel Windsor, S.W.1. (Part of building).

5. 54, Victoria Street, S.W.1. (Part of building).

6. 68, Victoria Street, S.W.1. (Part of building).

7. 25, Southampton Buildings, W.C.2.

8. 33, Carey Street, W.C.2.

9. Bankruptcy Buildings, Carey Street, W.C.2. (Part of building).

(b) Premises occupied by Temporary Departments of the Board of Trade.
18. 23, Buckingham Gate, S.W.1. Part of building only This building is expected to be evacuated in 3 months' time.
19. 47, Victoria Street, S.W.1. do. do.
20. 9, Queen Anne's Gate Buildings, S.W.1. do. Evacuation may be possible in 6 months' time.
21. 22, Carlisle Place, S.W.1. do. Uncertain.
22. 88, Kingsway, W.C.2. do. do.
23. 52, Broad Street, W.C.2. A reducing amount accommodation is required for 12 or months.
24. 30, Endell Street, W.C.2. do.
25. Salisbury House, Finsbury Circus, E.C.2. Part of Buildings do.
26. 10, Basinghall Street, E.G.2. do. Uncertain.
27. Cornwall House, Stamford Street, S.E.1. do. The portion of this building occupied by the Board of Trade accommodates Departments set up under the Peace Treaties and will be required for a considerable time.

A few rooms are occupied in various parts of London for the storage of official documents, but steps are now being taken to remove these papers to the Great George Street offices.

A list of the premises occupied by the Board of Trade in the Provinces will be supplied if the hon. Member so desires.
