HC Deb 05 May 1920 vol 128 cc2107-8W
Mr. HOGGE

asked the Secretary of State for War and Air whether he is aware that issues of ribbons for the 1914–15 Star and the Victory Medals have not yet been made to officers retiring in 1918; and when such issues will be made by the War Office?

Mr. CHURCHILL

The preliminary issue of the riband of the British War Medal and the Victory Medal is available for those officers who have left the Army and, as already announced in the Press, they should apply to the War Office for the riband. Owing to the shortness of supplies, a preliminary issue of the riband of the 1914–15 Star was not made to officers who had left the Service. Very large numbers of the Star, including riband, have already been issued, and officers who have not yet received the Star should apply to the War Office.
