HC Deb 05 May 1920 vol 128 cc2094-5W
Sir P. PILDITCH

asked the Secretary of State for War and Air whether he can see his way to grant the same gratuity to Territorial chaplains for service in the War as was given to the temporary chaplains, as many of them after some years' service had to apply to be allowed to return to their parishes owing to inability to obtain substitutes to carry on their work there?

Sir A. WILLIAMSON

I regret that I am unable to alter the conditions governing the issue of gratuity. The conditions were explained in detail in the reply which I gave the hon. and gallant Member for Melton (Colonel Yate) on 24th February.
