Captain COOTEasked the Secretary of State for War and Air whether he is aware that Private John Foley, No. 36015, late 1st garrison battalion, Norfolk Regiment, has now been demobilised over five months and cannot yet obtain payment of gratuity due for service at home and abroad from 11th August, 1914, throughout the War; that the excuse given is the non-arrival of documents from India; and whether he can take steps to expedite the settlement of the accounts of men who have served in India generally, inasmuch as this case is by no means singular?
§ Sir A. WILLIAMSONI am making inquiries and will let the hon. and gallant Member know the result as soon as possible.
