HC Deb 04 May 1920 vol 128 c1907W
Mr. ALFRED DAVIES

(Clitheroe) asked the Minister of Pensions whether his attention has been drawn to the case of Mr. H. W. Morris, late No. 3,902, Royal Fusiliers; whether he is aware that this man has lost his leg from the hip through enteric fever due to military service and is only receiving a pension of 1s. 6d. a day; and whether, in view of the present high cost of living and this very inadequate pension for the loss of a limb, he will have this matter reconsidered and this man's pension increased?

Major TRYON

Mr. Morris contracted enteric fever in the year 1898 while on ordinary military service, not active service, and he is receiving the maximum pension which can be paid to him under the Warrants applicable to his case. I may, however, remind the hon. Member that the question of increasing the pensions of pre-war pensioners is at present under the consideration of a Cabinet Committee.
