HC Deb 03 May 1920 vol 128 c1738W
Captain BROWN

asked the President of the Board of Education if he is aware that the continual delay in re-opening Leeds College is preventing ex-service teachers from qualifying for certificated teacherships, and that in actual fact a four years' delay is being caused in some cases; and whether, under these circumstances, some compensation can be given to alleviate the hardships caused by this prolonged waiting?

Mr. FISHER

I much regret the delay in the complete restoration of the College premises to educational uses; but I have no power to entertain such a claim for compensation as is suggested.
