HC Deb 29 March 1920 vol 127 cc916-7W
Mr. A. SHORT

asked the Postmaster-General whether he is aware of the desire of many postal employees to have the customary half-holiday on Saturday afternoons; and, if so, whether he will consider the advisability of amending the regulations so that district surveyors may meet, where convenient, the wishes of such employees?

Mr. ILLINGWORTH

The general question of allowing Post Office staff a weekly half-holiday will come up for consideration by a Committee of the Departmental Whitley Council, which has been appointed to deal with the question of the hours of duty of the staff.
