HC Deb 29 March 1920 vol 127 cc917-8W
Dr. MURRAY

asked the Secretary for Scotland whether the Board of Agriculture have come to a decision with regard to the repeated applications by crofters and others in the township of Hougharry, North Uist, for land on the Balranald estate to increase the size of their holdings; and whether, in view of the urgent need for enlarged holdings in this district, the Board will grant these requests with as little delay as possible?

Mr. MUNRO

The Board of Agriculture have been in negotiation for the purchase of the estate in question, but have not so far succeeded in adjusting a price. The applicants have been informed of the position.
