The arrest of the late Thomas McCurtain was ordered by the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief in Ireland on Friday, the 19th instant, and arrangements were made for the arrest to be carried out the same night. The party sent to make the arrest and search the premises were unaware that McCurtain had been shot until their arrival at the house.
