HC Deb 29 March 1920 vol 127 c899W
Mr. JELLETT

asked the Chief Secretary for Ireland whether, in view of the increasing demand among loyalists in the South and West of Ireland that steps should be taken by the Government to get them out of that part of the country, owing to apprehension as to the consequences to themselves and their property should the Irish proposals of the Government ever become operative, the Government are prepared to facilitate and finance a scheme of emigration by colonies for all those who desire to live in peace and security under the British flag?

Mr. MACPHERSON

There is no doubt that the methods adopted by the Sinn Fein organisation have created great terror and apprehension amongst loyal people, and that many loyal people desire to act as my hon. and learned Friend suggests.
