HC Deb 29 March 1920 vol 127 c900W
Captain REDMOND

asked the Chief Secretary for Ireland, whether the counties of Carlow, King's County, Monaghan, and Sligo have, up to the present, received no share of the reconstruction grant of £250,000 allotted for the employment of demobilised sailors and soldiers in Ireland; and, if so, will he explain why these counties have not received any grant?

Mr. MACPHERSON

Every county in Ireland was asked to put forward a suitable scheme or schemes. The vast majority of counties did so, and grants were allocated. I presume that the counties mentioned put forward no schemes, or, if they did, the scheme was not suitable.
