SHORTasked the Minister of Health whether he has received a resolution passed by the Staffordshire County Council, calling upon the Government to take more drastic and effective measures to reduce the cost of building materials by the prevention of profiteering by producers, manufacturers, or others or of the holding up of commodities; and, if so, what action, if any, does he propose to take?
§ Dr. ADDISONYes, Sir. I have received the resolution in question. The whole question of the cost and profits made in the production of building materials is now being inquired into by a Committee appointed under the Profiteering Act by my right hon. Friend the President of the Board of Trade.
