§ Sir A. WARRENasked the Minister of Health whether it is a condition of the Public Works Loan Board in making loans for the building of houses that tenants shall not be allowed to take lodgers or to sublet; and, if so, whether, in view of the great shortage of houses, he is prepared to recommend that the condition be waived?
§ Mr. BALDWINI understand that the Public Works Loan Board usually make this condition to prevent overcrowding, but that in any case where they are satisfied that overcrowding will not occur, they waive the condition.
