§ Mr. SITCHasked the Minister of Labour when he proposes, in accordance with the promise given by him on behalf of the Cabinet during the recent dispute in the baking trade, to introduce the Night Baking Prohibition Bill.
§ Sir R. HORNEI am still in communication with my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State upon this matter, and an announcement will be made as soon as possible. It is not possible at present to name a date for the introduction of the Bill, but I would refer the hon. Member to the reply given to the hon. Member for Ripon (Mr. E. Wood) on 14th August, 1919, in which it was stated that if there is undue delay in the introduction of the Bill, this fact will be taken into account in fixing the period of grace, before the Act becomes operative, which was recommended by the Committee of Inquiry.
