§ Mr. CHURCHILLThe only gun firing at present carried out at Shoeburyness is in connection with experimental work for the Ordnance Committee and "Proof" of ammunition. The firing is carried out by the Superintendent of Experiments, and includes much and varied research work now in progress which is of vital importance to both the Navy and the Army.
