§ Mr. SITCHasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether in framing the provisions of the impending Budget he can see his way to embody therein some consideration for bachelors who remain such out of regard for the claims of dependent parents or blood relatives, thereby avoiding any demands for assistance towards their support from the rates; and will he also consider the possibility of some allowance in the assessment of bachelors for Income Tax in those cases where they employ the services of unmarried sisters or other dependent consanguineous relatives as housekeepers?
§ Mr. BALDWINAs the hon. Member is doubtless aware, the whole question of Income Tax reliefs and allowances is under consideration by the Royal Commission on the Income Tax, whose Report, will, it is anticipated, be shortly available.
