§ Sir A. WILLIAMSONThe statement in the first part of the hon. and gallant Member's question is substantially correct. As regards the latter part, a proposal to re-introduce pre-war uniform, with certain modifications which will reduce its cost, is under consideration. While the making of a grant for uniform to officers on entry is accepted in principle, the amount and conditions of the grant cannot yet be announced.
