§ Mr. PEASEThe charge for Press telegrams since 1st January last has been 1s. for every 60 words transmitted between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m., and for every 80 words transmitted between 6 p.m. and 9 a.m., plus threepence in each case for each copy beyond the first. The loss on Press telegrams during a normal year before the "War was estimated at about £200,000. The new rates are expected to bring in an additional revenue of £40,000 a year, but the increased cost of working will more than counterbalance this.
