GREENEasked the Parliamentary to the Ministry of Shipping whether he is aware of the great difficulty experienced by the Hackney Borough Council in obtaining supplies of Guernsey broken granite and granite setts, with the consequent result that it has been impossible 283W to carry out the necessary repairs to, and maintenance of, macadamised roads in the borough; and whether he can intervene in the matter, with a view to setting apart sufficient tonnage for the purpose indicated?
Colonel WILSONI would refer my hon. and gallant Friend to the reply which I gave yesterday to the hon. Member for Islington, East (Mr. Raper) on the subject of the transport of granite from Guernsey.
