Major HENDERSONasked the Secretary for Scotland whether he is aware that considerable delay is taking place in the payment to the police force in Glasgow of the increased emoluments granted to them in accordance with the recommendations of the Desborough Report; 475W and whether he has taken, or will take, any steps to expedite matters?
§ Mr. MUNRO:I am informed by the Town Clerk of Glasgow that the new scales of pay and allowances sanctioned for the police are now in operation, and that all arrears have been paid, except arrears of overtime, on the new scale, which will be paid on next pay-day.
