Major BARNESasked the Prime Minister if, in view of the increased cost of living and the fact that in all our Dominions legislation is under consideration for the purpose of granting mothers' pensions, he will appoint a Commission of Inquiry to report on the action that has been taken in other countries on this matter and to make recommendations thereon?
§ The PRIME MINISTERI have nothing to add to the reply given by my right hon. Friend the Minister of Health on the 23rd June, when he said he did not think that any useful purpose would be served by the appointment of a Committee such as was suggested in the question.
