HC Deb 28 June 1920 vol 131 cc49-50W

Commander BELLAIRS asked the Minister of Labour whether, in view of the fact that the "Labour Gazette" costs only one penny per month, he can state how many copies are freely distributed and what surplus or deficit is incurred on its working?

Dr. MACNAMARA: I would refer my hon. and gallant Friend to the reply given to my hon. and gallant Friend the Member for Montgomeryshire (Major D. Davies), on 12th May last, of which I am sending him a copy. I explained then that the actual cost of production per copy is considerably above the sale price of 1d. An Inter-departmental Committee is at present at my instance engaged in a thorough investigation of the whole question of its character, cost and receipts. The deliberation will be completed within the next few weeks.
