§ Major BARNETTasked the Prime Minister whether, having regard to the serious danger to all users of the public roads created by the importation into this country of foreign motor-cars equipped with left-hand steering-gear, he will consider the desirability of introducing legislation forthwith to prohibit such importation?
§ Mr. NEALI have been asked to answer this question. The question of the use of left-hand steering gear on motor vehicles is under consideration by the Departmental Committee on the taxation and regulation of road vehicles, and it is obviously undesirable to take any action of the nature suggested which will have far-reaching effects until the question has been thoroughly examined from all points of view.
