§ Mr. HIGHAMasked the Home Secretary if he is aware of the fact that at a recent meeting of the Islington Borough 2420W Council a resolution relating to the showing of the British Flag on the town hall was carried, and that during this meeting speeches were made which were not in keeping with the spirit of the bulk of the residents of the borough; if he has taken any action in the matter; and, if not, will he explain what can be done to stop such proceedings in the borough in future and to ensure the showing of the British Flag on all constitutional occasions?
§ Sir J. BAIRDI saw a report of this incident in the Press, but I have no other information with regard to it. The Home Office has no power to act in the matter.
