HC Deb 08 July 1920 vol 131 cc1677-8W

Mr. W. GRAHAM asked the Minister of Pensions whether he is aware that under Reference M.H.J. 37,693, dated 24th March last, the awards branch, Burton's Court, intimated to ex-Sergeant W. Barron, No. 714,064, Labour Corps, now residing at 8, Prospect Terrace, Edinburgh, that he had been awarded a pension of 12s. per week, with 14s. 5d. weekly for wife and children; and that the pension issue office had been instructed to make payment; whether it has been found impossible to get the arrears of pension due to this man, notwithstanding repeated applications to the pension issue office; and whether, in view of the fact that over three months have now elapsed since the date of the award, he will take steps to compel the pension issue office to pay the arrears due?

Mr. MACPHERSON: Payment of the arrears referred to was authorised on the 7th instant. I much regret the delay.
