HC Deb 08 July 1920 vol 131 c1692W

Sir W. JOYNSON-HICKS asked the Secretary of State for India whether any Military Medals were awarded to the non-commissioned officers and men of the Mechanical Transport in consequence of last year's operations against Afghanistan; and whether any recommendations were received in respect thereto?

Mr. MONTAGU: All recommendations for the award of the Military Medal were disposed of by the Commander-in-Chief in India, under the powers delegated to him of making immediate awards. Forty-one such awards of the Military Medal have been made for the Afghan operations, of which two were to men of the Mechanical Transport.
