§ Mr. E. WOODasked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Agriculture whether he can state the arable acreage and the quantity of wheat produced in Denmark in the years 1918 and 1D19, and the duties, if any, that are levied on the importation of agricultural products into that country?
Sir A. BOSCAWENAccording to information at the disposal of the Ministry the acreage of arable land in Denmark in 1918 was 5,826,000 acres; similar information for 1919 is not yet available. The quantity of wheat produced was 3,390,000 cwts. in 1918 and 3,168,000 cwts. in 1919. So far as is known, no duties are levied on the importation of cereals or feeding-stuffs into Denmark, but there is a small import duty on cheese, which appears to 1091W be the only agricultural product on which an import duty is levied.
