§ Mr. ORMSBY-GOREasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what undertaking, if any, has been given to the French Government regarding the issue of a further French loan in this country?
Mr. CHAMBERLAINAs stated by my right hon. Friend, the Prime Minister, in reply to a question by the hon. Member for Peebles on December 15th last. His Majesty's Government have assented to the issue by the French Government in the London market of a loan, the proceeds of which are to be spent entirely in the United Kingdom.
The amount and date of the loan are not yet settled and will depend on the arrangements to be made by the French 915W Government with the market. There is no question of a loan by the British Government to the French Government
