§ Mr. SWANasked the President of the Board of Trade, if he is aware of the great hardship that the people of Barnard Castle and district are being subjected to by not getting their proper rationed quantity of coal, as since October they have got little more than one-third of their quantity, whilst only six miles from a coal mine, and now all stocks are used up; and if he will inquire into the facts in order that they may get their proper supply?
§ Mr. BRIDGEMANThe District Coal and Coke Supplies Committee for Northumberland and Durham are dealing with the position in the Barnard Castle District, and I am informed that for the week ended 7th February the deliveries exceeded the average winter requirements of the district.
