§ Mr. BRIDGEMANThe total number of officials and employés in the Mines Department is 496, including the temporary staff. The Mines Department has up to the present taken over the duties formerly carried out by (1) the Coal Mines Department; (2) the Mines Division of the Home Office; (3) the Section of the Statistical Department of the Board of Trade dealing with coal mining statistics; and (4) the Mineral Resources Development Branch of the Board of 2149W Trade. The staff employéd in these Departments and Sections at the dates of transfer of duties was as follows:
