§ Mr. F. ROBERTSasked the President of the Board of Education whether, in view of the fact that the large number of children leaving school at the end of the Christmas term will further accentuate the present unemployment problem and that the juvenile employment exchanges are being instructed to give these children the last consideration in filling vacancies, it is proposed to take any steps to encourage these children to remain at school?
Mr. LEWISI have no doubt that the local education authorities will encourage these children to continue in attendance at school, but the success of their endeavours must depend largely on the co-operation of the parents.
