§ Mr. MACQUISTENasked the President of the Board of Trade how many of the ex-enemy steamers which were allotted by the Reparations Commission to Great Britain have been sold; and how many of those sold have been sold to foreigners, or foreign steamship companies, or British steamship companies, the majority of whose shares are either owned or controlled by foreigners?
Colonel WILSONI have been asked to reply. I am informed that 85 ex-German steamers allotted to Great Britain for final ownership have been sold. The sale is open only to British buyers, and the vessels have all been sold to British steamship companies.
