§ Mr. ALLEN PARKINSONasked the Secretary of State for India whether he can now make a statement on the result of his telegraphic communication on the subject of the rice harvest in Burma which will be gathered in December of this year; and whether he has instructed the Government of India that, if the control of rice be continued, a committee, on which the cultivators and Burmese merchants have representation, should be appointed to advise the Rice Controller, and that export licences be issued to Burmese as well as to European merchants?
§ Mr. MONTAGUI can at present add nothing to the reply given on the 17th November to the question asked by my hon. Friend, as I have not yet received the proposals of the Government of India. I will telegraph this question to the Government of India.
