§ Major NALLasked the Minister of Transport whether he has drawn the attention of those railway companies who are unable to run mid-week excursions to the number of main-line type locomotives and carriages still on the hands of the Disposal Board; and what steps he is taking to bring this surplus roiling stock into immediate use?
§ Mr. NEALThere are no main-line type locomotives in this country on the hands of the Disposal Board, and the only coaches for disposal are ambulance and specially fitted stock, which, without considerable alteration, is not suitable for use. I beg to refer the hon. Member to the reply given to the hon. Member for Ashton-under-Lyne (Sir W. Do Frece) on 9th August.
