HC Deb 28 April 1920 vol 128 c1274W
Brigadier-General SURTEES

asked the First Commissioner of Works whether there is any justification for closing Kensington Gardens at 8 p.m. during the summer months, which hour is equivalent by Greenwich time to 7 p.m., and is followed by two hours of broad daylight?

Sir A. MOND

The hon. and gallant Member has been misinformed. Kensington Gardens are always closed just before dusk, irrespective of the time by the clock, and at the present moment at 8.45 p.m. This hour will be automatically extended until it reaches 10 p.m.
