Mr. ALFRED T. DAVIESasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, in view of the serious effect which the increase of the Excess Profits Duty will have on home industries and business enterprise and of the strong opposition to the increase of the duty from trade organisations, he will indicate approximately the data on which it is expected the Select Committee on War Wealth will make its recommendations?
Mr. CHAMBERLAINI do not doubt that the Select Committee will use all expedition in prosecuting its important and difficult inquiry, but I have no authority to fix a date for its report.
