§ Mr. McCURDYThe answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. The recommendations of the Committee were not adopted because it was not considered that they had made out a sufficiently strong case for an increase in prices to the consumer. I may say, however, that in view of the variations in the price of fruit which have taken place, I have arranged that a further investigation into the costs of jam manufacture shall be made.
