The annual rates of expenditure on the staffs of the Ministries, after deducting the annual rates of expenditure in July, 1914, are £645,500 and £116,400, respectively. The hon. Member will appreciate that the figures of expenditure cover not only the cost of the additional staff as compared with July, 1914, but also the increases by way of war bonus to the staff of the absorbed Departments.
