§ Dr. ADDISONTaking the figures for the last four issues, the cost of the journal is about £114 a month. It is published primarily for the information of local authorities, and copies are distributed to them free of charge. In addition, there is a large sale, which is increasing, approaching £100 the month. Advertisements are not taken, otherwise another large source of revenue would be available. I am satisfied that the journal serves an essential purpose, and that, from the point of view of economy alone, even apart from the large receipts from sales, a journal of this kind in which matters of importance can quickly be brought to the notice of local authorities and their officials is a good investment.
