§ Mr. SHORTTThe total convictions for drunkenness in England and Wales in the months of August and September, 1919, were 5,364 and 6,123 respectively, as compared with 2,097 and 2,068 for the same months of 1918. The figures for Scotland, with which my right hon. Friend has been good enough to supply me, were 1,212 and 1,706 in 1919, as compared with 484 and 374 in 1918.
