COWANasked the Home Secretary whether his attention has been called to the increased recklessness with which taxicabs are driven in London, und to the increased danger to pedestrians from this cause; and whether, for the safety of the public, he will Lake steps for the better control of motor traffic?
Sir R. WILLIAMSA tendency to increased recklessness has not been noticed, and the suggestion is not supported by the return of accidents known to the police in which personal injury was caused. During the first ten months of 1918 the number of such accidents was 677, whilst in the1824W corresponding period of 1919 there were but 755, although approximately 1,200 more cabs were in operation.
